work by Angie HughesIn the first issue of WOWbook, Angie Hughes combines transfer paints, water-soluble film and a bit of zapping into something wonderful – see right. This section of the book is a complete tutorial on the layering of fabric which will give you ideas for years to come. Angie’s techniques include fabric painting, free machine stitching and braid making (including a great idea for enhancing a basic stitched braid).

Maggie made a vessel that tells a story. You can see two of the panels she made on the left. Having produced the basic vessel with Vilene, building layers with laminated papers, she then used Wireform as a stiffening agent. Maggie discovered halfway through that deconstructed vessels were just as exciting so she also made a wall panel with the same techniques.
